This Privacy Policy describes how TechRam LLC (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Safe Ping mobile application (“App”).
Summary: We process data needed to run the App (account, optional profile, emergency contacts you add, and location when you choose to share it). We use Google Firebase for backend services and may show ads unless you purchase ad removal. We do not sell your personal information.
1. Information we collect
Account data: If you sign up or sign in, we process identifiers and contact data you provide (e.g. email, phone number, display name) through our authentication provider.
Profile: Optional profile information you choose to add (e.g. name, photo).
Emergency contacts: Contact details you manually add in the App (e.g. name, phone) to send safety or help messages. We store this so the App can work as intended.
Location: When you use features that share your location, we access device location only as needed for those actions (e.g. including a map link in a message). We do not continuously track you in the background for unrelated purposes.
App activity & diagnostics: Basic usage and crash or performance data may be collected by our service providers to keep the App secure and reliable.
Advertising (if ads are shown): Our ad partner may use identifiers and device data to show and measure ads, subject to their policies and your device settings.
2. How we use your information
To provide and maintain accounts, profiles, and core App features.
To send or prepare messages you initiate (e.g. SMS or third-party apps such as WhatsApp) to contacts you select.
To show optional advertisements and offer in-app purchases (e.g. remove ads).
To improve security, fix bugs, and comply with legal obligations.
3. Legal bases (where applicable)
Depending on your region, we rely on contract (providing the service), legitimate interests (security, improvement), and, where required, consent (e.g. optional permissions or marketing-related uses).
4. Sharing and service providers
We use trusted third-party services that process data on our behalf, including:
Google Firebase / Google Cloud (e.g. authentication, database, storage, messaging infrastructure) — governed by Google’s policies.
Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — if ads are enabled, as described in Google’s advertising policies.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of users and the service.
5. Data retention & deletion
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. You may delete your account from within the App where available; that will remove or anonymize associated account data in line with our technical setup. Some residual copies may persist for a short period in backups.
6. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
8. International transfers
Our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses).
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, or to object or port data. Contact us to exercise these rights. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. We will post the new version with an updated effective date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy where permitted by law.
